玉红（孙黎饰）曾经是城里的按摩女，因追求安稳的生活，放弃了按摩店的工作，来到山村与老实人王富贵（贾致钢饰）同居。同村的小混混袁大壮（王萌饰）对玉红心生爱慕，趁王富贵不在家时，来到玉红住处与玉红谈情说爱，还威胁王富贵，扬言要带走玉红。 玉红在两个男人中间犹豫不决。王富贵忍受不了袁大壮的侮辱与威胁，在一个大雨倾盆的夜晚，他握着一把生锈的刀来到袁大壮家附近，伺机报复。但翌日，袁大壮被杀死，凶手却另有其人……。一群犯罪分子在神秘的环境下被聚集在一起，当他们简单的工作完全出现偏差时，他们不得不一起努力去揭开到底发生了什么。。Based on a true story of the American Civil War, culminating at the Battle of New Market, May 1864.
