《翻过那些山》根据顾文显本人发表于《故事林》的故事《揪心的憾事》改编，是一部反映偏远山村教育问题的影片，影片讲述了90年代初，一个生活在偏僻山村的农民王梦学为了向上不起学的学龄儿童传授知识，克服重重困难私自办学，并为山村教育不惜献身的感人故事。。故事发生于80年代的香港，惠玲和小芬是夜总会的卖唱的歌女，经惠玲介绍，小芬认识了东南亚夜总会经理徐伟，徐伟帮唱歌的歌女们介绍大款，拿取包养费的分成。小芬和惠玲凭借自己的美貌与嗓音游走在各种有钱的老板之间，一次偶然，欲行不轨的徐伟被小芬撞见，小芬想阻止却徐伟被残忍杀害……。Sheen and Caulfield are Bo and Roy, respectively, two California high school grads who vent their frustrations by going on a killing spree.
